Running Motivation is for anyone looking to start a running journey, or those looking to step up to your next milestone race event. Walking Motivation is for anyone who feels like their running days are in the past. We encourage you to start where you are; walk, run, and learn the run, walk, run method to cover race distance pain-free. Quote of the Week:

If you want to change your body, exercise. If you want to change your life, become a runner.

I love this quote because running has changed my life in many ways. High school coaches use running as a punishment for being late to practice. Adults hate running because they were never taught how to do it properly. In other words, running gets a bad rap.

As a high school student wanting to join the basketball team, I signed up for cross county to get in shape. Although I had my struggles that first season of cross country, I found a sport that would help me stay in shape throughout my life. I went through a big life change in my family dynamic which was stressful. The stress took me away from running. Finding out that a new baby would be coming into our world at the age of 35 years old, there was a lot of stress eating going on. I put on the most weight I have ever put on in my life. With the extra weight, I had a devastating knee injury that took me away from running for about three years. During rehab, I read Runner's World Magazine and found stories of how running changed the lives of those that took up the sport. Those stories inspired me to get back into the sport. I returned to my first 5k in 2012 and loved it. I took off the extra weight by running and eating healthy.  In 2013, I started an in-person “Couch 2 5k” program. That turned into what we call Keep Calm And Run To The Best You in 2014. Which turned into the Keep Calm And Run To The Best You 5k in 2016. The Keep Calm And Run To The Best You (The Podcast) in 2019. Will there be a movie?!

Running not only changed my life, but it also changed the lives of those that I taught over these last ten years. What a blessing. To hear me expand on this: Listen To The Podcast

Craig DeSantis Runs London

Speaking of life-changing, Craig was over 200lbs in 2014. When Craig found out that he had elevated health markers, he decided to make a change. Went to the gym and got on a treadmill. Craig went on to lose 55 lbs in 5 months. Congratulations to Craig for traveling to London and pacing hundreds of people that ran the London Marathon, in April, 2023.
